Restless

I can't sleep -
Whenever I close my eyes
The scent of your hair rises from my pillows
And I'm haunted by the memory
Of how your fingers danced across my skin.

I toss and turn -
The rustling of the sheets
Reminds me of how your clothes fell away
How your body held my gaze
The way I wanted to hold you.

I lie in silence -
But my mind is filled
With the music of your voice
Soft laughter, hushed whispers
And cherished memories
Of the breathless ways
you've said my name.

I can't sleep
But I can still lose myself
In dreams of you.

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Daedalan, in the year 984 AF.
