On modern Darkness

Written by: Ildiko Isariel, Ilhuicatl Inel Iyolo

Darkness, tender companion of Light,
You walk beside Her, Her equal unashamed.
You enfold the world in velvet arms,
Whispering to soothe, to gentle, to rest.
No foe to challenge, no tide to disturb,
No motives, no aims, no battles worth taking,
No ire to ignite, only patient breathing.
Your hand is cool upon fevered brows,
Your voice a cherished lullaby.
You teach the bright day to shine more sweetly,
And within Your quiet heart, the world finds peace.

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Phaestian, in the year 983 AF.
