Calm The Storm...

When you found me in the wreckage,
Splintered like a vow unspoken
When my breath broke in staccato,
Salt between my teeth, wide open
One hand on the bottle,
One foot in the grave,
I know now.

Even if I am sinking,
Heavy as an oath beneath me,
Even in my dreaming drowning,
Even with my future fleeting,
You will stir up the waters,
You will teach my bones believing.
I know now.

Saltworn skin,
Waves will take me home again.
Are you the hunger in my ruin?
Are you the storm beneath my sin?
Saltworn skin,
Breaking light upon my grin
I have clawed through hell to be here,
I will not go back again.

Even if I rot alone
When the silence screams beneath me,
I could haunt this ship of ghosts
While the horizon moves to leave me.
Still something turns in my chest,
Still something dances, disbelieving
Wider than oceans beneath,
Louder than gods who stopped their breathing.
And the tides are warm
Where they once ran bleeding,
Where there once was war,
Now the darkness is fleeting.
I am hollow with ache,
I could sleep through my sorrow,
But I'm finally here
And I'm not leaving tomorrow.

Saltworn skin,
Waves will take me home again.
Are you the hunger in my ruin?
Are you the storm beneath my sin?
Saltworn skin,
Breaking light upon my grin
I have run from love to reach you,
But now I'm falling into&
Saltworn skin.

Drown with me.
Drown with me.
Drown with me.
Drown with me.

All this hunger you never earned,
All these shipwrecks you never burned
You will drown in my endless sea.
If it's blood that you want from me,
You can open my arteries.
Will you calm this storm in me?
Will you calm this storm in me?
In me.

Teeth of gods,
Salt of sin,
I will be
What I've been...

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Phaestian, in the year 980 AF.
