City of Istarion

The City of Istarion
*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Far to the north lies a city hidden in the mountain range,
called Anake's Elbow whose secrets are kept in seclusion,
through the caverns of fish and trolls fighting with rage,
a hidden path leading the way through the caves to Istarion.

Royal families of distinction rule the city with tales,
of betrayal, ambition, vengeance and caution to outsiders
those who knew naught of the Tsol'dasi beyond the vales,
these three families with hidden ulterior motives for powers.

Conspiracies and murders contested each family to greed,
thirsting for power with preparations concocted by each,
all three families believing themselves chosen to lead,
vying for complete control over Istarion within reach.

One family dead with only two left to vie for domination,
their goals almost within their reach to get all they gain ,
one family destroyed with its bloodline ended in corruption,
with no salvation in sight to remedy the city of its bane.

Rue the day when one family comes out as victors,
to lord over Istarion hidden in the mountain of Anake's Elbow,
and yet welcome all those the city consider as visitors,
to expect the outsiders to pay respect with their bow.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Ero, in the year 756 AF.
