The Forsaken Mist

As we boldly defy the forsaken mist,
a thundering roar echoed through the sky.
With prayers said, children hugged, lovers kissed,
Righteousness in heart, we let loose our cry.

With a violent clash, the hour was nigh -
the opening song of this blood-stained tryst,
Our fervour smiled upon by Those on high,
as we boldly defy the forsaken mist.

The slithering tongues of the enemy hissed,
an unholy sound their deafening reply.
Baring their fangs, intending to resist,
a thundering roar echoed through the sky.

No matter how many times we had to die.
no soldier present would ever desist.
We knew what awaited when we said goodbye,
with prayers said, children hugged, lovers kissed.

The prayer beads that surrounded my wrist,
calmed my nerves as rivers of blood raced by.
Though Ugrach's hand could not be dismissed,
Righteousness in heart, we let loose our cry.

As the sun set, no longer could they deny
the triumphant ones standing in their midst.
The songs of victory left no gaze dry,
for Creation will see the dawn, and persist
as we boldly defy.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Aeguary, in the year 746 AF.
