The end of the Wayward Heights?

For years, the city of Cyrene has waged a lukewarm war against the neighbouring Wayward Heights established in their old Imperial Gardens. Although early attempts at negotiations proved fruitful, they were quickly abandoned for more violent means, which unsurprisingly proved ineffective against a nation established by a Goddess.

The City in the Valley eventually turned to other options, and reached out to Lady Lorielan, the Jade Empress, for assistance. Normally aloof, the Goddess of the Crystal Realm had made Her presence known when She recently led to the re-raising of Kasmarkin, and She seemed the perfect option as a neutral deity unlikely to care about taking Cyrene for Herself.

Cyrene would not receive something for nothing, however. They were to demonstrate an understanding of Lady Lorielan's realm if they wished for Her assistance, and so they organised a small festival of sorts in Her honour. Debates, lectures, hunts, and demonstrations of knowledge were all organised to this end, and the Empress was ultimately pleased. For a few months, all was quiet.

The 15th of Miraman, 860 years after the fall of the Seleucarian Empire, Pandora decided to unveil the prizes for the recent Wayward Games that the two tied cities earned: half a statue each in the image of a citizen of their choosing. Mhaldor chose Taryius Lichlord, their Tyrannus, while Hashan chose Embrelle Uraian-gattar, who organised much of their participation in the games. Miraculously, no one died as the statue fell out of the sky (though the Hashani Seneschal, Farrah Roualt, came close to death's door and spurred discussions of a Seneschal's curse), but the biggest shock was the arrival of Lorielan, who summarily ejected Pandora from Cyrene through means that only the Divine may know.

For three years the Wayward Heir is barred from the valley She had made a secondary home. After that, we can only wonder what may happen.

Summary: Cyrene sought out Lorielan, the Jade Empress for aide against Pandora and Her Wayward Heights in what used to be their own territory. Through a series of demonstrations of knowledge, they earned the Empress's assistance, and She ejected the Heir for three years from the valley.

Penned by My hand on the 18th of Miraman, in the year 860 AF.
