The Tournament of the Eternal Warrior

Deep within the Sangre Plains on the 11th of Chronos, 567 AF, the Halls
of Combat were abuzz with expectation. The temple of Matsuhama was
filled with spectators awaiting a great tournament hosted by the God of
Combat Himself.

In celebration of the formal reopening of the Halls of Combat, all
Houses of Sapience had been invited to participate in a two-part
contest, the first Tournament of the Eternal Warrior, and more than
twenty of the greatest warriors were assembled for the honour.

The tourney began with a fast-paced free-for-all; amid cheers and jeers,
the contest was narrowed to a final pair: Tanris Rozzan, representing
the House of Occultists, and Rangor Corten, representing the Sentinels
of Nature. After close calls for each, finally Rangor slaughtered Tanris
and was proclaimed victor.

The second part of the tournament was a competition resembling an
individualised version of the arena game Champions vs. Assassins. The
goal: to retain possession of a sword, receiving points as long as one
could hold on to it. As a mischievous twist, the sword also damaged its
wielder, both physically and mentally, draining his or her strength. The
other contestants, then, were to slay the one holding the sword, so that
they could take possession and gain points for themselves. Several
contestants proved exceptionally skilled at the contest; in the end,
Rangor Corten again stood victorious, closely followed by Kest Sar'vet
of House Ashura.

The final rankings of the Tournament of the Eternal Warrior stood as
follows:

First place: Rangor Corten of the Sentinels of Nature with 27 points.
Second place: Tanris Rozzan of the House of Occultists with 19 points.
Third place: Kest Sar'vet of House Ashura with 12 points.
Fourth place: Aldrich of the Carnivalis Institute of Jestering with 8
points.
Fifth place: Pharaus Kanku'Dai of the Sect of the Black Lotus with 7
points.

As winner of the two events and clear victor of the tournament, Rangor
was awarded both an exquisite silver longsword and the Trophy of the
Ram, on behalf of his house. Congratulations to the winners and
runners-up of the inaugural Tournament of the Eternal Warrior!

Penned by My hand on the 10th of Ero, in the year 568 AF.
