Northern Exploration

With the disappearance of the Wall of Power, recent months have found
great numbers of explorers in the northern mountain range of Sapience,
among them the wizard Maklak. At his behest, several expeditions have
struck out in search of the vents of Hthrak and the mysterious Flame of
the World rumoured to lie beneath. Most recently, he was able to strike
a bargain with a party of adventurers from Cyrene to procure a book
found within the network of caves found beneath the area's steaming
geysers. It is said that, by studying this book, he intends to discover
the secrets of this Flame and cover the world in ice!

Also of note in the newly re-discovered north, a pair of sylvans known
as Alemiorri and Muirne were exploring the Istar jungle when they were
approached by a stranger who petitioned them for assistance. Gathering
their allies, the sylvans were met by a woman named Arafaile, a
priestess revealed to be one of the Tsol'dasi, a race long lost in
legend and myth. As the adventurers listened to her halting speech,
unaccustomed to speech in the common tongue, they learned that
Arafaile's home - Istarion, the seat of the Tsol'dasi race - lay within
the very branches above their heads!

And so Alemiorri and Muirne, along with the party of Naeth, Rahum,
Cormak, Delphinus, Diath, Mina, Centi, Alyssea, Dobbes, Caneloc, Tiann,
Davio, Raelynn, and Juree, became the first outsiders to enter the city
of Istarion in centuries.

Penned by My hand on the 6th of Chronos, in the year 553 AF.
