This winter marks an important milestone in modern history, as war has
been officially declared between two cities for the first time in
centuries. Two years ago, in response to raiding and other acts on the
part of the Church and their allies, a state of hostility was declared
toward Shallam by Mendax Mendacis, overseer at the time, and sustained
through the current leadership of Erhon Lucoster. Escalating the
aggressive stance against Chaos, Sultan Silas Aodh'Maynard's return
declaration of hostility this past Glacian has entered both cities into
a formal state of war.
