Prior to the War of the Divine Child, Sartan, God of Evil, split Prince
Slith, Lord of the Undead Legions, into two beings. One of those beings
was slain in the Darkenwood Forest.

The other being, however, was used as a decoy, sending Aegis, God of
War, on a decades-long wild goose chase through the nether planes.
Slith is incredibly cunning and can elude many hunters, including the
powerful divine. The part of Slith that was slain exhibited this when
Eris, Goddess of Chaos, was unable to find him, though it was known he
was nearby. Slith is also quite brave, brave enough that his surviving
half returned to the Prime Material Plane to bear witness to the War of
the Divine Child.

Slith watched in disbelief as his other half was taunted by Sartan while
being slain by a mob of mortals. He watched in anger as Sartan revealed
that He had kidnapped the son of Chaos and War. And he watched with
particular interest as Indrani, the Demon Queen, rose in power to the
ranks of the divine as She ravaged the essence of the Divine Child.

After the War ended, Slith retreated to a far-off plane and began to
research what he had learned. In awe of the incredible power that
Indrani was able to attain from the Divine Child, Slith began to study
what could be done with divine essence if it was infused with death
energy, the very energy that Ugrach used to create Slith himself. Slith
believed that, with enough essence and the right amount of death energy,
it could be possible to amass enough power to control a God. But these
theories were just that -- theories.

That is, until Slith saw an opportunity to steal some Divine essence.
When Pentharian, God of Valour, was ill and incapacitated within the
Te'serra Pavilion nearly sixty years ago, Slith snuck into Shallam.
When no one was watching, Slith proceeded to take a small amount of
essence from Pentharian. Not enough to be noticed, but just enough for
experimentation.

Slith then took up shop in the Underworld, making sure he was undetected
by his father and the other beings of undeath that walked that plane.
For many years he worked and experimented with the essence he possessed.
At first, he had no success, and often caused some of the soulbleed
death energy to coalesce into an uncontrollable mass that threatened to
destroy the entire Underworld. But Slith, being a powerful undead being
himself, was able to neutralise any threat by destroying it.

Eventually, Slith realised that he may never be able to directly control
the actions of a divine with the limited essence he possessed. However,
he learned to implant suggestions into one's mind, much like a
serpentlord's hypnosis though far more powerful. He was eventually able
to persuade Pentharian to desire to leave the Prime Material Plane for
another plane. Slith set up a clever trap for Pentharian within that
plane and was able to successfully capture Him there.

Delighted, Slith began to experiment on the imprisoned Pentharian
Himself in an effort to directly control Him. While these experiments
would all fail, he would learn in the years to come that Pentharian was
imbued with essence other than His own. It didn't take long before Slith
realised he had a significant amount of essence from the Goddesses
Lorielan and Mithraea in addition to the essence of Pentharian. This
essence, unknown to Slith, had been imbued into Pentharian a short time
after Slith had stolen some of Pentharian's essence.

Mad with the power he was close to possessing, Slith began to apply his
experiments to the essence of Lorielan. Lorielan, however, proved to be
difficult. Being the Enlightened One, She was a master of Her own
thoughts, and thus was particularly resistant to the experiments Slith
was performing. It took many years, but in the end, Slith was content
with convincing Lorielan to leave the Prime Material Plane for the
crystal realm. He would deal with Her later.

He then began to perform his experiments on the essence of Mithraea.
This proved to be more successful and eventually, like Pentharian, he
was able to set up a trap for Her. When She left the Prime Material
Plane for the plane he had set up, his trap was sprung, and he had a
second Divine in his grasp.

Many beings would be satisfied with the prospect of capturing a single
Divine, let alone two. But by this point, Slith was greedy with the
potential power that could be his. Could he capture Lorielan as well?
Could he be able to control not one but three Divine? And what will he
do with all this power when he has obtained it?
