Harmony's Return

At dusk on Glacian 18th, 362 A.F., Itkovian and Seelie Otanthalian began
calling people together upon Shallam's walls.

At midnight, a ceremony began. Itkovian and Seelie in turn spoke of
Light, of Compassion, of Harmony. They spoke of Tarah's disappearance
from the realms, 100 years before, of Her order's perseverance despite
its absent Patron. As dawn approached, the pair led a prayer over their
assembled observers. The Lady Sol, Mithraea, appeared in the gathering
to observe as the sky slowly lightened. As the crowd waited silently,
the sun made its first appearance above the horizon, and the hosts began
a Rite of Prayer.

As the Rite proceeded, a whisper of power was felt throughout the lands,
riding the crest of dawn, but was lost upon those within the ceremony.
The Rite ended in triumph, and people began to leave, but Lady Mithraea
had noted something odd about the dawn, and advised those still
assembled to listen.

As the first light grew brighter, it became obviously tinged with an
amber tint. The amber concentrated into a point that began to grow in
size and intensity. The absent goddess's shrine, at the site of the
ceremony, was suddenly observed to begin to shimmer and hum. Realising
something was happening, the remaining observers began to fall once more
to their knees in expectation. The glow in the sky continued to grow and
near, and the shrine's colour intensified with it, and the hum rose
apace. The amber light settled over Shallam, disappearing from the rest
of Sapience at that point. Within the city, the light was seen to settle
over the northeast rampart, where the ceremony and Rite had taken place,
then begin to fade in size and brilliance, while up on the rampart the
shrine's echo rose to a peak, and then fell dormant.

By now a small, softly glowing amber globe, the light concentrated atop
the rampart, near the shrine, and shimmered into the form of the Lady
Tarah, returned to Achaea at last.

Hail, Tarah the Reborn!
