Moghedu

The troubles in Moghedu seemed to settle down as time passed. Yet the
feeling in the air was that something was going to happen soon. Mhaldor
bent all their effort into finding a way into Moghedu to press their
attack. They threatened scouts, considered ramming down the gates, and
even tried to trick the Mhunna himself into letting them in, all to no
avail.

Meanwhile, the Mhunna met secretly with Altarius and discussed his plans
to move the majority of the non-combatants out of Moghedu to a secure
location. The majority of the mhun army would be providing the escort
for them. The Mhunna asked that the defenders be ready to protect
Moghedu should Mhaldor find a way to attack during the time the army was
gone. Altarius readily agreed and was given several amulets that would
allow individuals quick access into the stronghold. Altarius then left
to ready the defenders in as secret a fashion as possible.

Soon enough though, the Mhaldorians efforts paid off and they were able
to capture a mhun scout and bring him in for testing. Diamondesce and
Trunks lead the efforts and horrible acts of cruelty were performed on
the scout to force him to talk. The scout's resolve was finally broken
when his tormenters cut out his eyes. He began spouting information,
some accurate, some not. The main points were information on the tunnel
leading from the Mhaldor sewers to Moghedu, the army's pending absence,
and a vague reference to Moghedu being stuffed with treasure.

Quickly moving to action, the Mhaldorians sought out the tunnels and
made their way through them. Meanwhile, the mhun assemblage moved out of
Moghedu and started on their journey. Shortly thereafter, the
Mhaldorians were able to gain access to the tunnels and quickly took out
the guards stationed there. The defenders soon noticed their presence in
Moghedu and moved in to defend.

Several large battles took place, with the mhuns taking little part with
their smaller numbers and the ferocity with which the two outside groups
were attacking one another. The Mhaldorians made little headway to the
upper levels, but did uncover a treasure room and raided it for plunder.
As the time for the mhun army to return drew closer, the intensity of
the attacks stepped up and the Mhaldorians began focusing on finding
more treasure rooms to raid rather than simply killing the defenders.

Alas, though their efforts were strong, they were driven back and when
the army finally began to return, they concentrated on sweeping the
invaders from their home and collapsing the tunnel entrace to the
stronghold. When they were successful, the Mhunna turned his attention
to rewarding the hard work of the defenders in putting their lives on
the line for the mhun people. He heaped upon them gold and rare
artifacts to be used for a time.

The Mhaldorians continued sporadic attacks, but the guards responded
quickly and efficiently, tracking down any who entered relentlessly.
Finally, after all their treasure was secured and their people safe, the
Mhunna reopened Moghedu to the world. Yet Mhaldorians will still not
walk the halls safely. The security has been increased and the guards
have orders to attack Mhaldorians on sight.
