This has come up again recently, so I thought it worth a
moment to remind you all again - DON'T MAKE LOANS!

We wrote this in HELP LOANS. We tell this to everybody who asks.

If you make a loan and don't get repaid, we're really sorry,
but we will do nothing for you. Nothing. It's not a scam.
It's not a con. It's nothing except some private agreement
which one member broke. And we aren't in any sort of position
to enforce private agreements.

So if you want your credits, keep them and don't loan them out.
If you want your gold, keep it and don't loan it out.

We have been urging you along these lines for along time.
Please listen. Don't loan your credits to anybody. And if you
do, we're sorry, but if the person doesn't repay, the credits
are gone forever.

It's your choice. They are your credits (gold, whatever).
Just remember you're on your own if trouble comes.
