Announce News Post #2301

lag, worldwide aeon, and what have you

We're looking into it! We're not just sitting idly. Fear not!

Some have reported that they are experiencing somewhat higher
levels of lag/aeon/slowness in Achaea, especially in, oh, the
last few weeks (real world time).

We are aware of these reports and we are looking into what, if
anything, we can do.

In a mostly-rantish thread on Achaea's forums, there have been
a few constructive posts, and I have answered a few times as well
with greater detail than might be profitable here.

Suffice it to say that we are aware of these reports, and we are
looking for ways to isolate the problem. Issues related to
networking and performance are often subtle given the compound
nature of the systems we're dealing with.

I have even tonight tried refining our own analytical tools to
try to help pinpoint this. We'll write new ones if necessary, don't
you worry!

We have every confidence that we'll find this problem, however long
it takes us to do so.

You have been patient till now and we thank you for that. We know that
we have the best bunch of players in any realm anywhere, and we're
not going to let you down.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Daedalan, in the year 423 AF.
