fishing and balance

Long ago, back in the deep dark recesses of time, mighty
Weavings permitted fishing on the waterways of Achaea, and
mortals were glad. Many also got quite rich.

Recently, as Maya and I have been in the midst of our mighty
re-Weavings recently announced, we changed fishing. Or, to be
more precise, we made fishing do what it had always been intended
to do.

This has been experienced by many as a great loss. "Fishing is
now predictable! It's not random any more!" says one. Says
another, "Fishing is now impossible!" Yet one more expresses
outrage at this horrible loss of entitlement, "I can't fish
any more. You've broken it!"

Well, maybe we have, and maybe we haven't.

What was happening until last Achaean month was that all
the balance times related to fishing were _unbeknownst to us_
random. Almost completely random in fact! Balance times for
almost any fishing activity would, as it turns out, simply be
the same balance time as the last unbalancing act undertaken
by anybody else in the realms.

This was not intended, however helpful it may have been to you
all!

No, we intended fixed times for fishing activities. Now that
our broad review of all Achaea has brought us to fishing, we
have uncovered something that was totally not intended, and we
have fixed it.

Now, moving ahead, we may consider changing things - SINCE THEY
ARE FINALLY DOING WHAT WAS ALWAYS INTENDED! This becomes a matter
for consideration of more than just a moment. So we will give it
the consideration it deserves.

And we will continue to re-Weave.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Chronos, in the year 415 AF.
