The news in summary: - dolls and puppets should be losing fashions
in a more predictable manner; - various problems with learning were
fixed; - mark members should now be unable to quit before the
minimum service limit; - you may now see "The channel monitor" on
market and class channels; - houses should be able now to deposit
credits to their house accounts.

- Sabotage, or puppet/doll self-determination?
Fashioners across Sapience have noticed that some puppets/dolls
were losing fashions far more quickly than others. During initial
investigations, a note was received from an organisation calling
itself "Promote Independence, Not Killing, Puppets and Dolls"
(PINKPAD). In the note, this group claimed responsibility for the
unusual loss of fashions, saying that they had carried forward
with experiments designed to prove that puppets and dolls could
in fact operate themselves, or each other, for the good of all.
Several puppets and dolls were found that had not lost any
fashions. Today, these suspects were brought into protective
custody. "We'll be having no more troubles from these maroons,"
says the chief inspector assigned to the case.

- High(er) Education?
in further news, it would appear that certain training-related
inconsistencies have been uncovered and put to rest, hopefully
forever. A number of well known trainers were found in possession
of certain illicit substances which could easily explain strange
events in recent days: teachers with wandering attention or
inability to concentrate in class; lessons purportedly about
avoidance covering philosophy or crafting; some teachers refusing
to even begin lessons, or recognise students! The newer, cleaner
teachers, all of whom have been sent through a proper 'reorientation,'
should now carry out their duties without further difficulties.

- Quit pro quo
a smuggling ring of mark members providing 'recreational' substances
to the teachers of Sapience has been broken up by authorities.
This ring provided product to the teachers in a complex web of
exchange which allowed them to enter and leave mark freely, avoiding
the usual time limits set in law. With the breaking up of this
smuggling ring, and punishment of its members, this convenient
method of avoiding full terms of service should be unavailable.

- Monitors - hall, meta, and channel!
You may notice a new name in your class or market - "The channel
monitor!" This shiny new being takes over the burdensome task
of monitoring those pesky market and class channels, freeing up
those well-meaning HALL MONITORS and META MONITORS who so often
find the beauty of their efforts deeply underappreciated. Tell
that new personage hi for us, and be good.

- Powerendum referendum
Faulty powers, recently delivered to certain house members, have
been replaced with the real thing. Seems that house members with
powers related to referendums SEEMED to have the power, but really
didn't. This was eventually traced back to a crooked supplier of
fake powers, who had no comment for the record. New powers were
quickly obtained and distributed through the night, so that
affected house members should now find themselves able to affect
house referendums, much as they always expected they should.

- Give Credit where Credit is due
Misfiled paperwork and bureaucratic incompetence are being blamed
today for a recent refusal of financial institutions to accept
credit deposits on behalf of Houses. "This is all just birthing
pains. Of course we want your credits!" says an unnamed banking
official. Credit deposits attempted today have succeeded without
a hitch, indicating that the problem seems to be resolved, for now!

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Lupar, in the year 395 AF.
