12.8.10 Quartz Peak

The translucent cliffs of Quartz Peak rise from the Vashnar mountain range
below the Great Southern Road, reachable by a narrow passage into the
mountains from that road. Upon the cliffs and within high caves dwell a race
of sentient bear-like humanoids called the ursu, at constant and bitter odds
with a strange, mutated race of creatures called the taryen that live in
caves further below. The origins of their feud are shrouded in mystery.
