We’re Hiring For Social Media

We are looking for someone to run social media for Iron Realms, and we would like that person to be one of our own players.

Right now I run the social media accounts myself: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X and Bluesky, plus a few of the game accounts. The job needs more hours than I can give it, and I think someone who plays will write about these games better than any agency could.

THE JOB

– A paid, part-time contract, about 10 hours a week
– Writing and scheduling posts for the Achaea, Aetolia and Iron Realms accounts
– Turning news posts and events into posts that make sense outside the game
– Answering the people who reply to us

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You play one of our five games, or you used to. You can explain why it is fun to someone who has never heard of a MUD, in two sentences. You write short. Experience running social accounts helps a lot, paid or unpaid, and a fan account counts.

YOUR CHARACTERS

You keep them. The role is never tied to a character name in public, and everyone we hire signs an NDA. Applying is confidential and has no effect on your characters either way.

HOW TO APPLY

Email jeremy@ironrealms.com by Tuesday, October 20, and keep it under 400 words, not counting the samples. Include:

– Your real name, and your character names in every game you play
– Your time zone, and the hours you could work
– Links to any accounts you have run, with a line on how they did
– A few sentences on which of our accounts you would fix first, and how
– A sample Facebook post promoting a news post of your choice from achaea.com or aetolia.com, written for someone who has never played
– A sample Instagram or Threads post about anything in our games
– A sample reply to a comment that says “Is this game still running?”
