August in Achaea!

Hi folks!

August is upon us and some of you may have heard rumours of a cross-game celebration coming to the Iron Realms. Keep your eyes peeled for more information in the next 12-15 hours or so!

With the Mnemosyne Trials fully released and continued iteration with it ongoing, we’ll be taking a swing at some pvp class changes this month and maybe some other things too.

Before I get into the promo details: it is now possible to WADE INSPECT <person> from the entrance to the Mnemosyne. Only possible on mutual allies (unless you have the corresponding talisman, see below), this will show you their current boons.

Meanwhile, Globes of Shifting continents have returned with a handful of new talismans, including updates to Moderngods, Empires, and even the Seafaring set, read on!

Globes can be obtained via the Achaea website (www.achaea.com/credits) and contain a variety of prizes, including:

• Unbound credits.
• Talisman caches containing pieces from the Moderngods, Empires, and Seafaring sets.(*)
• Card sleeves which can be unwrapped for any suit.
• Mayan crowns.
• Bloodstained shards.
• Artefact discount vouchers.
• A range of artefacts valued from 50 credits all the way up to the 2000+ range.
• Free reincarnations/trait resets (**)
• Additional tradeskill slots((**)

… and the long-awaited return of the enamel bubble pipes! Pop pop.

* As noted above, we have some new talismans to announce for these sets. Additions to the Seafaring set can also be obtained from voyage rewards as well as from caches, of course!

Moderngods

A testament of heroism: This Haskor-themed document will allow the owner to WADE INSPECT <person> without requiring mutual ally status, allowing you to adequately inform yourself before an invasion.

• Valued at 400 credits

Empires

An Imperial scribe’s contract: Themed for Cyrene, this contract will allow you to set a pseudonym which you may then use to post on the news.

• Valued at 1500 credits
• Syntax: PSEUDONYM SET <name> (see below for more information), WRITE AS PSEUDONYM
• This incurs a 100k gold cost to change and may only be done once per IG year.
• Usage: BEFORE you write in the newsroom, use PSEUDONYM SET <name> and this will be how your name appears on the post. This cannot be another player’s name and it must be under 50 characters. It can include YOUR name. To write as your pseudonym, use WRITE AS PSEUDONYM. Use the normal writing commands to write as yourself, instead.

Some notes on this: we intend for pseudonyms to be a fun roleplay tool, not a way to excessively antagonise other players while hiding behind anonymity. Use your common sense and discretion here. HELP LANGUAGE RULES fully applies. We have comprehensive logging for all pseudonym related activities and we will take IC steps to out your pseudonym if the need arises. Public news 21287 may be of interest for those who doubt!

Seafaring

A sharp cutlass: RAISE this CUTLASS and, once every 24 hours, you will clear any entangled sails from your ship.

• Valued at 500 credits

A worn docking ticket: PRESS this TICKET while standing at a harbour, and you will no longer pay docking fees at that harbour. Consumed on use.

• Valued at 50 credits

A sailor’s hammock: HANG this HAMMOCK while on your ship and when the ship is at sea, the room will become an endurance regeneration room.

• Valued at 400 credits
• You must be at sea and not at the harbour for this to function, and the hammock cannot be removed once hung.

A battered squeezebox: PLAY this SQUEEZEBOX and for the next hour, your crew will gain significantly increased morale.
