RE: Your concerns.
Good morning.
While the Professor is out of the office this month, he asked me to check his mail for anything relevant and to coordinate with Academy spokespeople if a comment might be necessary, particularly given his recent status as a public figure.
I’ve been instructed to inform you that our institution has always supported free and open exchanges. Such things, however, are not remotely the same as a matter of security. The increasingly lawless nature of the Traverse – including societal rights abuses like slavery – is rendering notions of intellectual exchange farcical, alongside the rising death toll.
The right to safe travel between communities is a fundamental necessity in order to facilitate an ongoing free and open trade in ideas and research between civilised societies.
