Achaea Housing: Build Your Own Home

Achaea housing is a system that lets you build a custom home one room at a time, write the title and description of every room yourself, place the exits, and furnish it with goods crafted by other players. Most games hand you a house. Achaea hands you the credits and lets you build one. You decide how many rooms it has, what each one is called, where the exits go, and what a visitor reads when they walk through the door.
A home in Achaea is yours in a way few games allow. You can make it a sprawling castle, a single quiet study, or a hidden tower nobody can find without the password. The freedom is the point.
Building a home in Achaea, room by room
You start with one room and a plan. From there, you add rooms one at a time, and you can keep adding as long as you can supply the credits each room needs.
Once a room exists, you control everything about it. You write the room title and the description, so a guest reads your words rather than a generic template. You place the exits between rooms and decide where they lead. You can hide an exit so only people who know it’s there can use it. You can add doors. Then you chain it all together into whatever layout you want, which means the floor plan of your home is as much a creation as the descriptions are.
This is closer to building a small zone than decorating an apartment. A determined builder can lay out a manor with secret passages, a war room behind a hidden door, and a fresh description on every wall.
Most homes sit in a city subdivision, so where you build also says something about where your character belongs. A home in the city-states of Achaea roots your character in a place and a politics, not just a set of rooms.
What building a home in Achaea costs
Every room you build runs on room credits. Supply, not a level cap or a rule, is what limits how big your home gets. Each room takes ten room credits, and each door takes one credit on top.
Where room credits come from
You buy room credits at the Property Office in Delos. Each credit costs 200 wood and 100 stone, paid in commodities rather than gold. Those commodities come from Achaea’s player economy, so you can gather and refine your own or buy them from the players who trade them. Either way, a large home represents real commodity spend, which is part of why a finished one carries weight.
Other touches cost gold on top of the credits. A room title or a custom description runs 10,000 gold each, a new exit 1,000, and hiding an exit 50,000. None of it is gated behind levels. If you can fund it, you can build it.

Furnishing and decorating your Achaea home
Empty rooms are only the start. You furnish your home with furniture made by other players through the Furnishing tradeskill, one of Achaea’s many crafting professions.
The chairs, tables, benches, thrones, desks, and dressers in your home weren’t generated by the game. A player designed and crafted them, and you bought or commissioned them. A well-furnished home is a small showcase of someone else’s craftsmanship, and a good Furnishing crafter can build a reputation supplying homes across the world.

Servants in your Achaea home
A home can have staff. You hire servants and place them in your house, and they come in types like butler, maid, cook, steward, and page. Once hired, a servant stays on your property with no upkeep to pay.
You can customise a servant’s appearance, its name, the way it’s described, and the messages it shows as it moves around. You can also shape how it reacts to events in your house, and you can set whether it wanders the rooms or stays put. A servant won’t take direct commands or run a written routine, but a customised one still turns a static building into something that feels lived in. It’s a small touch, yet it’s the difference between a set of empty rooms and a household that feels like it belongs to someone.

For a lot of players, a home isn’t about utility. It’s about having a place in the world that’s unmistakably theirs.
A custom home gives your character a base that reflects who they are. The descriptions you write, the layout you choose, the servants you hire, all of it tells a visitor something about you before you say a word.
