If you win, you are obligated to get the credits within a few days or risk being turned into something green. Of course if you have the bound credits on hand when you win, you get the item as soon as you win.
Gold bids do require you to put up the gold. It will be returned to you when you are out bid by letter. Please do not lose the letter or throw it away with the gold inside.
