The Impire Strikes Back

The mystery of the missing Crow Man and cultists was solved by the Indorani. Fittingly, the followers of Chaos had merely fled to the nearest place of darkness and significance to them: the once-Temple of Khepri. That the Imps claim the area mattered not, as they were too weak to hold the territory the cultists now call home.

Angry at being cast out, the Imps of Sehal began to lay traps across the scrublands and Aureliana forest, hoping to more passively annoy their enemies out. The Princesses of the Imps, now grown, revealed that they blame this new Ophidian Empire for the desecration of their temple; and the traps will persist until the Ophidians make amends. Even words of possible war were shared.

Just as the month of 473 Lanosian opened, the Liruma Scrublands again erupted with activity and literal upheaval. The Ophidians, ignoring the traps above, continued their tunneling and discovered that the path of the Urubamba is not entirely aboveground. Undaunted by claims that the cultists were fighting back via trap, the Ophidian Empire was set in its underground task.

This task paid off with the help of, oddly, both the Sciomancers and Ascendril working together. With combined Earth and Water magics, the ruins the Ophidian Empire was excavating were freed of an unnaturally strong barrier of water and precarious stone. So revealed was the true name of the ruins: Nesynesfe vakh Khatafin, or translated, Temple of the Winds. At some time in the Second Epoch the Ophidian Empire trapped a great Air Spirit within a nexus of leylines, ostensibly as both a means to protect themselves from its 'playfulness' and to use its power.

Of course, the Ophidian Empire has immediately claimed these ruins as their territory. They simultaneously filled the ruins with Ophidian guards while attacking the Aureliana forest, clearing it of cultists despite the efforts of the Indorani. Lorenzo is dead, the Beastlord's cultists vanquished, their corpses have been taken to wherever Indorani take their own.

All that remains is threats of war by the Imps.

Penned by my hand on Closday, the 6th of Lanosian, in the year 473 MA.
