Deadline extension for The Asterian Adventures

Hail, Sapience.

We have decided to extend the deadline for applications to The Asterian Adventures: Murder After The Parade. Applications must now reach myself or Ellodin by the end of Scarlatan this year.

For those reading this for the first time, the details for this event are in Public news #20513 and #20514. It will be an event the likes of which have never been attempted before, especially for history enthusiasts of the Wars of Succession.

To answer some common questions:

- Yes, you may apply for a character of the opposite sex, as long as you believe you will be able to play them convincingly.

- While you must apply as one of the six characters and answer the questions from the perspective of your preferred character, you are able to indicate if you simply wish to be a follower of one of the factions instead of a main character. However, take note that you will still need to do your research - if the original actor for a main role cannot be present, one of their followers may be requested to step up.

- No, it does not take overlong to familiarise yourself with the Wars of Succession, simply some time dedicated to reading.

Some have expressed some intimidation by the unfamiliarity of the Wars of Succession. If you are truly interested in this event, you need not allow this to hold you back. We of the Restoration will guide you in your understanding of the histories and characters, providing biographies and coaching if necessary, and no doubt there are historians among your citymates that you can also seek assistance from.

What we wish to see above all else is initiative, interest and thoroughness in research. What gaps in knowledge and ability there are can be filled in later, as you will have some time before the actual event.

Crucially, you must have an understanding of the characters and their dynamics up to the Battle of the Parades, which is fairly early on in the tomes. This will suffice at least to inform your application, though we strongly suggest that you read the whole history before the event.

Your key resources are the below:

- The Seleucarian Empire, Part 2: The Wars of Succession - Volume One
- The Seleucarian Empire, Part 2: The Wars of Succession - Volume Two

These should be able to be found in most city libraries, but are also available in the Hall of Histories at the Lucretian Athenaeum and the Ingram Cairo Memorial Library in the Asterian Athenaeum on Meropis.

If there are further questions, do not hesitate to contact us. I do urge that those considering the opportunity to simply make the attempt. Our events are almost always unique, so there may not be another event of this sort and theme in the near future from us.

Regards,
