Slipping into the Shadows

Sobriquet,

Your Shadows flee from Light now just as they ever have, nothing has changed. Your ability to gather enough Hashani with the courage to venture beyond the Sunderlands is noble, and rare, but understand that we have all seen this play to its fruition before. Many have come before you, as many will come after, making similar claims with similar results. In the heat of the moment your Shadows may lengthen, as has happened before, yet over the course of mortality you will always return to your rightful spot: Beneath the boot of those whose courage, will, and resolve will always surpass your own.

We oppose those of the West, and any others who follow Evil, for reasons that need not be stated. Yet over the centuries our two courses have intertwined constantly and I don't believe neither Good nor Evil has ever questioned the resolve and the determination of the other.

We oppose Chaos and those in thrall to the Chaos Court, but their ability to martial victory upon the battlefield has never been questioned. They are a threat for this very reason, and a threat we take very seriously.

Then there is Darkness. Then there is Hashan. You are the training grounds upon which we test our children. You are a myth, a passing of a shadow. An illusion of purpose and resolve never to be realized nor understood. You speak of Shadows as if you understand, but the only Shadows that laud over Hashan are its histories of miserable failures.

We encourage all enthralled to this mundane idea of Darkness to grow and evolve. Understand combat, explore what it means. If your resolve is as you say it is then your understanding of victory may soon approach your intimate understanding of utter mediocrity. And there, upon the hill rests your apex. As you approach its zenith we will be awaiting you, and once again you will slink back to the corner for which you are known.

Do not awaken the lion, for he has had his eyes on more deserving prey throughout your existence. Perhaps you deserve the full attention you so desperately crave.

In service to the Bloodsworn,

Micaelis al Nadir
