The Last City

Sapients and those of the Seas,

Long ago the God of the Sea declared Cyrene to be the Last City, the final remnant of our land to withstand the inevitable Great Wave. This is not a matter of happenstance, but instead an honour and responsibility given to the city as a sanctuary for civilization, culture, and law. These qualities are ones appreciated by Lord Neraeos and we rededicate ourselves to them as we celebrate His Patronage.

Cyrene remains a secular city, believing in the strength found in our diversity, but this does not prevent us from treasuring the teachings of our Divine. Their influences throughout the centuries have shaped many Cyrenians and the Virtues of Lord Neraeos can be witnessed in the actions and endeavours of our citizens. They are found in the passion of quality work and the studious considerations derived of reason. We live them with our vigilance against threats, our proud celebrations, and humble reflections.

In fulfillment of her role and duty, Cyrene will become the center for diplomacy with the peoples of the Sea, welcoming them and all others who wish to establish good will and pursue a productive relationship. To the tritonic city-states we officially decree our neutrality with the surety of Lord Neraeos, that they may find benefit in an independent and secure host to their negotiations. We will continue to expect and enforce respectful behaviour from all in the city and defend against those who attempt to harm our home or those within.

To all of those with the desire to control your course and discover your own way to greatness, to enjoy the bounty of your victories and contribute towards the building of a richer legacy, there is a place in Cyrene for you.

This we declare for the prosperity of Cyrene and the Sea, that we may find excellence through our cooperation.
