Rocks and Ripples

Written by: Metrist Gaegool Warrick

Upon the pond there lived a ripple
That whispered softly to the rocks,
"when one goes jumping in the wet
For days I feel the aftershocks."

Upon the pond there lived a ripple
Every broken tension felt
The rocks all murmured at the knowledge
Envying not what fate had dealt

The ripple whispered to the wind,
"what power is there in this life?
To yield and waiver with each movement,
As softened leather to a knife?"

"More power than a rock could know,"
The wind replied in chuckling gales,
"Upon this pond you're but a ripple,
Upon an ocean you'd sink sails..."

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Sarapin, in the year 855 AF.
