For some three hundred and eighty five years of friendship I dedicate my first and only poem to you.

A new day dawns, with your light no more
Unbreakable we wished, now our grief so raw
Rise again will the sun, to dry our tears
Only memories will remain, so many years
Rest in peace, and in pain no more
A soul once bound, now free to soar
---
I think my mother would be proud of that effort...
