Finally Letting Go

Letting you go... the hardest thing I have ever done.
Feels like I am staring down the barrel of a gun.
All eyes are on me now, it is my time to shine.
The stage and onlookers are all mine.

A new figure has come into play.
Frost filled eyes, with a passionate heart joins the fray.
He is better than you could ever be.
My feelings for him growing bigger than the sea.

You left me, high and dry in a dry wasteland.
Now it's time for me to let go of you, I am finally taking a stand.
I am tired of chasing you knowing you don't want me.
Treating me like I am a mere little flea.

I got news for you, Captain of the sea.
I am more than you aim to be.
I got great ambitions, I will light up the oceans.
Until everyone knows my name, and feels my emotions.

My flag flies high, my head on straight.
Hope you're ready, got you locked, checkmate...
I am learning, teaching myself day by day.
Soon those monsters, myself I will slay.

Don't need you to hold my hand anymore.
For I am now the Captain of my own vessel, there's the door.
Don't let it hit you on the way out.
Now I know what you're all about.

You tricked me, with those shady ocean blues.
Making me fall head over heels for you.
You abandoned me, after I opened up my heart.
Did you really think you hurt me? All you did was give me a headache.

When my flames engulf you, don't scream for help.
I'll be standing there, a beaming smile on my lips.
As I shove my cutlass deeper, into that dark black heart...
I'll stand proud, as your ribs crack.

I'm finally ready to send you to the ocean depths.
Let the Kraken have you, oops... there goes my devotion.
Then when you desperately swim for air...
I will turn my head, and then... like you did to me, leave you there.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Phaestian, in the year 828 AF.
