The Anchor

Written by: Twirler Stefana, Coastal Coryphee

An anchor lay amid a barren sea
Whose salt and grime spin tales of wanderlust
Not scorch'd by drought whose span exhaustive be
Sands whipp'd thru desert air strike steel and rust

What ocean vast and terrible has borne
Desolation riding on arid wind
Whose final ebb did beg the pain and scorn
Of that forgotten anchor still within

That weathered the storms of eras past
Where'er its captain set her sails to roam
And resolutely held its vessel fast
Long after flame and ash engulf'd its home

Unbeholden to the tide's cruel zeal
Moorings parch'd amid wasteland may heal

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Aeguary, in the year 794 AF.
