A pile of parchment notes yet to be collated sits upon a desk in the Lucretian Athenaeum.

"She will answer to the sound of gold along the shore," so the Vigil prompted. Why could they not simply tell us there was a horn made of gold to be found on a beach somewhere?

~ ~ ~

By the best efforts of Mhaldor's Kiet Aristata al-Azhan and Cyrene's Krypton Urth'Auren, this strange instrument was acquired. Dug up from the sands of a quiet beach in Ka'doloki, the play of its song was heard thrice across all the land and even in the very depths of the oceans. Afterwards, it dissipated into the seas from which it came, though it has since washed up on varied shores about our continent.

~ ~ ~

The horn of the tides summoned forth a creature of whom none alive dare to speak.

~ ~ ~

The Sorceress of the Seas appears octopian and roughly feminine in form, wielding a ship's mast as a staff. The waters surrounding her for leagues teem with monsters and horrors, and her tentacles lash the shorelines. Tales tell that she is responsible for the sinking of the Margam and the curse that now ties its dead crew to this plane.

~ ~ ~

She responds to the call of the horn of tides, but shows little interest in moving beyond this lure. What will happen should she meet another conduit? Are these elementals in contest?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Summary:
Thanks to a clue from the Vigil, the horn of tides was discovered. Blowing the horn three times called forth the Sorceress of the Seas from the briny depths.

Penned by My hand on the 17th of Mayan, in the year 757 AF.
