Halfhearted

Half my heart is full of faith
The other halfs a vengeful wraith.
Half my heart is clotted and still
The other halfs a donkey at a mill.
And so I sail east in search of answers
And happen across a blackened, bloodied feather.
I pick it up, and it crumbles to dust
It tells me of my own lust.
The lion I caged had escaped its prison
And the villain Ive slain has once more arisen.
The volcano has erupted
And until my number is zero
My world is on fire.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Mayan, in the year 816 AF.
