Perennial

Before the sun stirs
Hands sunk deep in muddy fields
Promise me this once

-

Sweat soaking the earth
Strawberry juice flavoured you
That smouldering day

-

The lantern's pattern
Diffused over empty walls
Long night's company

-

I pulled each turnip
Shook loose the cold soil as I
Shook loose the past year

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Lupar, in the year 864 AF.
