Assassination in Ashtan
The City of Ashtan has been rocked by murder! After seizing a suspicious load of cargo, the sergeant of the city guard was found brazenly slain in his own office. The assassin, once chased down, could only identify his employer as a hooded man who wanted to eliminate "an obstacle." What game is being played in the shadows of the Bastion of the North, and by whom?

And then it escalates into a series of divine manipulations spanning both continents. And then, at the end of it all, with every city united together and every opposing Divine joining hands to get to the true culprit, the veil lifts, revealing the mastermind behind it all...Oneiros, God of Peace!

A new diner opening whose owner was at odds with Ashtani military personnel?

Funny how the only big news is when denizens are murdered. Never mind that you could fill an entire scroll with the count of adventurer murders every year.
Also find it funny that EVERY event recently has ended in some cliffhanger or open-ended "or IS it?"

Yeah, would be nice if more events were constructed around player activities on a larger scale. I mean, a guy in the Ashtani military died... Ashtan raids like daily. Doesn't seem like big news.

Elementary. It was Collonel Custard in the dining room with the pipe.

Are you positive? I thought it was Professor Plum in the library with the candlestick.

To Samakhulis I'd point out that the life of an adventurer is essentially one that's supposed to be fraught with murder, assassination, plots and other such things that would not generally trouble the hum-drum life of a customs and excise officer.
That being said, you'd think denizens would be useds to dying repeatedly for the sake of getting us dragons. However, it's probably surprising when a death actually sticks and someone doesn't come back from the cave. Makes a lot of sense to me that this would be news!

EDIT: Carry on, nothing to see here.

Us humble assassins have fallen onto hard times when it's unusual for people to stay dead.

I smiled. And then I looked at your avatar. And then I smiled out loud.

The hooded man was about to be blackmailed by the Sergeant of the Guard who found out what the man's recent Amazon purchase was. It was very feminine in nature, apparently. OR IS IT? (Cliffhanger!)

I'm checking the Infinity Box for the answer.
