The Quisalis Mark and the Ivory Mark are loose associations of assassins and champions respectively. The Quisalis Mark was named in honour of the assassins of Thoth that died at Nishnatoba, under the foul touch of the undead forces of Prince Slith. In order to join the Quisalis Mark, you must find Callibius of Thera, and JOIN QUISALIS MARK. (Note: Due to a recent in-game event that culminated in the destruction of the town of Thera, Callibius is currently not accessible.) In order to join Ivory Mark, locate Lord Makarta in the fishing village of Jaru. Joining either costs 5000 gold.

Once in the Mark, you cannot gain grace, but you can be contracted with for assassinations or to champion someone. The key here is that if you are contracted to assassinate or champion someone, you will not be held responsible for it by the administration. If a complaint is filed, the person who paid you for the assassination or to be his or her champion will be considered to be the person who did the actual killing. In other words, the champion or assassin is considered simply a weapon, like a sword or a mace, wielded by the person who took out the contract.

Contracts are formal records created through through the contracts system, and you will be able to list all whom you have taken a contract out on, anyone who has paid you to be their champion or assassin, cancel outstanding contracts, and so on.

Rules regarding Assassinations and Championing:

1. If an assassin or champion paid by you kills someone, it is as if you killed the person in the eyes of the administration. Think of the assassin or champion as a tool that you rent. What this means, naturally, is that by taking a contract out on somebody, you open yourself to legitimate revenge.

2. Assassins and champions may be PK'd at anytime, by anyone. They can, of course, take revenge on those who attack them -without reason-.

3. Killing an assassin or champion who has a contract on you will negate that contract. The assassin will receive no fee, and the person who took out the contract will receive no refund. Further, it is NOT LEGAL to take revenge on someone for killing you if they have a contract on you, unless someone else takes a contract out on you (in which case that person should have a good reason to take a contract out on you). The idea here is that if someone kills you in self-defence, because he or she knows you've been paid to kill him or her, you can't use that as an excuse to then go back after that person for revenge. No mixing 'business' and 'personal.'
